la vecchia fabbrica
On a cold autumn evening, in the quiet city of Venice, the quietness was disturbed only by the distant sound of the sea. Clara, a young investigative journalist, was working late in her office when an anonymous envelope arrived on her desk. Inside was an old black and white photograph and a cryptic note: “The truth is hidden in the shadows.”
Intrigued and a little scared, Clara decided to investigate. The photo showed a mysterious man in front of an old abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city. The same factory which, according to legend, had been closed decades earlier due to a terrible accident.
Clara went to the factory, armed only with her torch and her courage. The squeaky doors opened with a whimper, revealing dusty and decrepit interiors. Every step sounded eerie in silence. While exploring, he found signs of recent life: a cup of coffee still hot, a notebook with incomprehensible doodles. –
Suddenly, he heard a noise behind him. He turned in a snap, the flickering torch lit up a man with a wide hat and a long dark coat. “You are seeking answers,” said the man in a hoarse voice, “but some truths must remain buried.”
Clara felt her heart beat furiously as she tried to keep calm. “Who are you?” she asked, in a trembling voice.
The man smiled enigmatically. “Only a shadow of the past. But beware, Clara. Not everything is as it seems. Sometimes the truth can be more dangerous than lies.”
With these words, the man vanished into darkness, leaving Clara with more questions than answers. But one thing was certain: he would not give up until he had discovered the secret hidden in the shadows.
And so, his search for the truth had just begun.
