Footsteps in the empty school
On a cold Sunday in November, Matteo Zyber and Chouaib decide to meet up for a night out. Not knowing what to do, they choose to visit an old abandoned school near their home, a place they had always heard rumors about but never dared to enter. The gate creaks loudly as they push it open, and a cold wind slips through the cracks of the decaying building as if warning them to stay away.
Once inside, they decide to explore the entire school, moving carefully through its long, silent hallways. Dust covers the floors like a thin layer of snow, and their footsteps echo louder than they expect. Old classroom doors hang crooked on their hinges, and faded posters cling weakly to the walls. But suddenly, they start hearing strange noises soft thuds, distant echoing knocks, and faint cries that seem to drift from somewhere deeper in the building.
At first, they immediately think it’s the wind blowing through broken windows and continue exploring, trying to laugh it off. But after a few minutes, they hear footsteps behind them… slow, dragging footsteps that clearly do not belong to either of them. They quickly turn around, but no one is there. Only darkness fills the corridor, staring back at them.
A little scared and agitated now, they move forward more cautiously, their hearts beating faster with every step. The deeper they go, the colder the air becomes. The lights from their phones flicker slightly, as if something invisible is brushing past them.
As soon as they begin exploring again, they hear the cries and footsteps once more louder this time, closer, almost as if someone is following them just out of sight. They spin around again, but once more, nothing… no one… not even a shadow.
Yet the sound doesn’t stop. It lingers in the hallway behind them, repeating, echoing, almost mocking their fear.
And with each step they take, the school seems to grow darker… and far less empty than they thought.
how should the story continue?
- they noticed a door slowly opening on its own at the end of the corridor (100%)
- a sudden cold breeze passed through the hallway, making them stop in fear (0%)
- the 3 boys continued to explore unaware of everything (0%)
