on the killer’s trail

Ashley came into my office with the documents in her hand. “Michael, the detective from New Jersey, asked us for help with a case,” she said, sitting at my desk. “This killer murders prostitutes and then abandons their bodies in the alleys.” After listening to the details of the case, I called the other members of the squad for a meeting.

Together we decided to take the case. That same afternoon, we took a plane to New Jersey, arriving in the evening. At the airport, we rented a car and headed straight to the local police station. Detective Michael welcomed us into his office, and we sat down in front of his desk to discuss the details of the case.

The next day, he took us to the crime scene to examine the situation. After hours of investigation, we found several promising clues that could lead us to the killer. Suddenly, we heard a scream. I immediately ran towards the source of the sound and saw the killer trying to kill another girl. I lunged in his direction, but he managed to escape.
