The Dark Murder

Life and Death in the Mud

Monica’s pulse raced, but there was no fear in her eyes. Only resolve. Scorpio wasn’t just a man with a past he was a man with a wound that ran deeper than she’d ever imagined. And now, it was her wound too.The rain poured harder as they approached the factory. Scorpio spoke without turning. “Romano’s inside. He’s the one who sold you out?”Monica nodded, eyes hard. “He’s not the only one I’m after.”Scorpio gave her a fleeting look. “I like that. Cold edge.”They moved quickly, slipping through the factory’s broken entrance. The night felt like it was holding its breath, the storm drowning out every other sound. Then, a voice Romanos broke the silence.“Scorpio,” he called, his figure a shadow by the window. He didn’t even flinch when Scorpio entered. “Still chasing ghosts?”Scorpio’s response was cold. “You think you can control everything? Not anymore.”Before Romano could pull his gun, Monica fired. The shot rang out, hitting him square in the chest. Romano staggered back, his life draining away.Monica didn’t even look at Scorpio. Her eyes were locked on Romano, the man who had killed her father.“That was for my father,” she said, her voice flat, emotionless.Scorpio only nodded. No time for words. The factory doors crashed open, and armed men flooded in. It was a trap.”Now,” Scorpio muttered. “Let’s burn it all down.”Gunfire erupted. Monica moved through the chaos like a predator. Scorpio was a shadow beside her, clearing a path with brutal efficiency. They were a team now unbreakable, unstoppable. When it was over, the factory was a graveyard, and Romano’s body lay lifeless on the floor. Scorpio stood over him, eyes hard.“Is it done?” Monica asked, her hands slick with blood.Scorpio paused, then nodded, his face unreadable. “Yeah. It’s done.”And together, they walked out into the storm, leaving the ruins behind. The night was their truth, and they were the ghosts who had come to claim it.
